End of Summer Events

Van Buren Dedication

The time has finally arrived to publicly celebrate my mural on the Van Buren/I-90 interchange! Stop by the Dana Gallery September, 6th at 6pm to cheer with me and also to honor the new traffic box artists completing work this year. More info HERE

On September 10th, the Sawyer student living will be open to the public starting at 4pm, so you can come see my other new mural from the summer in person. I’ll be there 5-6, come say hi! More info HERE

New Project Alert!

I am very excited to get the opportunity to create a mural for the upcoming NEW Zootown Arts Community Center! Work should begin towards the end of the month, so progress shots to come!

Radius Holiday Show!

The Radius Gallery show is here!  I've got five more of my Happy Dragons in the show (they won't be all out at once due to the shear volume in this exhibit) so be sure to stop by and check it out- perfect for holiday gifts.  Opening is Saturday, November 11th, 5-7pm, and will be up through December 24th.

Much Belated Art News

It's been seriously forever since I updated here, but for the 5 of you who read it, I am so sorry!  Here are some things I've participated in and new work to have surfaced:

Coming up...  I donated a bowling pin for the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana's (that's a mouthful) Bowl for Brain Strong fundraiser/silent auction.  This will take place tomorrow 11am-3pm at 5 Valley's Bowling.  I painted my favorite creature of the deep, an octopus; something just for giggles.  Hopefully it gets some bids!

Still Happenin'....   The Last Best Dream: Surrealism Here and Now at Radius Gallery

This is a kick-ass exhibit (and not just because I got to be apart of it)!  16 wonderful MT surrealists all together under one roof is nothing to sneeze at.  The show is in its last few weeks, ending April 16th, so hurry, hurry if you haven't seen it yet!

The three pieces that are featured (left - right):  "Stonemilker",  "A View with a View", and "Kilingi"

Just Happened...     ZACC 4th Annual Mini Benefit Show & Fundraiser

Another donation, this one to the ZACC fundraiser silent auction, which was a helluva good time!  20's themed party in the Wilma with excellent food and fun, and all the art you could ever dream of.  I think it was a huge success, and will keep this awesome arts community center rollin another year.

The piece I auctioned off for the ZACC:

"Where the Wildflowers Grow"

We'll see...   And here's a t-shirt design I submitted for Runner's Edge t-shirt contest.  Mostly did this because the winner gets to pick a nonprofit where $5 of every tshirt sold goes, and that would be a nice little boost for our nonprofit E3 Gallery.  (If you haven't been in to our gallery, please visit!  My blood and tears have gone into it, jk, but not really: E3 Gallery )

And last...   here's the latest painting I finished for my personal body of work:

"Purge"  acrylic ink & pen on wood,  $400

September News

Traffic box completion: Reserve & England, Missoula, MT

Traffic signal box of 2015 is finally complete!  It was quite a challenge this year due to bipolar Montana weather, from hazardous level smoke, to 30mph gusts of wind, to rain.  But "Now That's a Cowboy is now gracing the intersection of Reserve and England.  So while you're stuck at that interminably long light, take a glance to your right for some dino vs. cowboy action.

Live Painting at The Children's Museum, Missoula

In honor of Arts Education Week, I will be volunteering my time to work on a new piece live down at the Children's Museum so the visiting kids can get a first-hand view of art in motion.  So if you have kiddos to entertain and educate, come down and say hi as I work on a painting inspired by "The Jungle Book".

Missoula Monster Project at the ZACC

Finally, make sure to go and check out the Monster Show at the ZACC:  it turned out absolutely amazing with so many adorable, quirky and, sometimes, creepy monsters!  Here's my little guy that you can check out in person:

What's Happenin'!

Want to see some of my latest work?  I am now making it easier to stalk me (I know, takes all the fun out of it, huh).  Places to look for me coming up:

August 29- September 2:  Traffic Signal Box Round 2                                                                          Tomorrow I am starting yet another one of these fun public projects!  My traffic box this year is located at Reserve & England, right in front of Costco.  So come point and laugh at me as I get to play on public property.  Bonus: you can fill your gas tank and buy gigantic packages of toilet paper while your there, literally right next to me.

September 11-Missoula Monster Project at the ZACC
Over 200 kindergarten students from three Missoula County public schools (Lowell, Paxson, and Rattlesnake) have drawn a monster, and over 200 adult artists have created their own interpretation of these monsters using his/her own unique style and medium.  The results will be displayed in a September 11th art show, featuring both the original child-drawn monsters and the artists’ own interpretations, from 3:30 to 8:30 at the ZACC (235 North First St West, Missoula, Montan). Proceeds from the show go to help sponsor MCPS student field trips to the ZACC throughout the school year so they can keep getting exposed to more art!  I am super excited to have been able to do one of these little monsters (#90, called "Who Are You?").  So come check him out!

Lastly (for now) I have been invited to participate in a group Surrealist show at the Radius, pending February.  Creating work for this one has been truly rewarding and I can't wait to display in this gallery!  As details arise I will be sure to post, but I can say that there will be a fantastic line-up of artists.

Progress images will be forthcoming, but here's a reminder of my one from last year (Arthur & 6th).  This year promises to be even more epic!

Here's a sneaky peak at him.
